Not only will you get actionable feedback for improving your story, but you’ll get to grow your skills in giving feedback to fellow writers as well. Our workshops are all virtual and will take place in an invite-only channel of our Discord.
Our next writing workshop is April 18, 2026 at 6:00 PM CST. Tickets are $10.00.

What to expect
Requirements for participating
We’ll have a limited amount of seats for each writing workshop session. To ensure that everyone has ample time to submit their work and review others’ works, we have a series of deadlines:
- Last date to purchase a ticket: March 28, 2026
- Submit your work for feedback: April 4, 2026
- Submit feedback for other writers: April 16, 2026
- Attend writing workshop: April 18, 2026 at 6:00 PM CST
Please note that you must submit feedback for the other writers in the group by the deadline stated above in order to attend the workshop day.

What kinds of submissions are accepted?
We understand that writers are working a variety of thrilling stories. We allow the following types of submissions at our workshops:
- A chapter of your book
- Short story
- Creative nonfiction
All pieces must be kept under 5,000 words. If you want to submit something that is not on this list, please feel free to email us at [email protected] to check if it would be a good fit for this workshop.
How is the workshop structured?
We follow the “critique sandwich” method when structuring workshops. Here’s how that works:
- We start with positive (and only positive) feedback first. That way, all of our writers know the very first comments will be the good things about their work. This helps alleviate nerves and encourages everyone to remember that positive comments are also helpful.
- We then move to constructive criticism. Criticism that’s simply, “I don’t like this,” is not allowed as it is not helpful. Criticism must be constructive and tell the author how to improve their work.
- We wrap up with a quick recap of the author’s best qualities and what they could work on to improve their piece.
Detailed instructions on how to provide constructive feedback will be sent upon ticket purchase.
